1. Downpatrick Agreement

All vehicle rentals in Downpatrick are governed by a detailed Rental Agreement supplied at booking confirmation or on vehicle collection. This agreement sets out the terms, conditions, insurance arrangements, charges, and your responsibilities for the relevant rental. If there is any conflict between these Terms and the Rental Agreement for a Downpatrick rental, the Rental Agreement will prevail.

2. Downpatrick Eligibility

To rent a vehicle from Downpatrick, you must:

  • Be at least 21 years old to rent from Downpatrick (age restrictions may vary by vehicle type, with additional fees applicable to drivers under 25). Hold a full driving licence valid for the vehicle category, kept for the minimum period stated in the Rental Agreement. Provide valid identification, proof of address and a payment card in the primary driver’s name.

3. Downpatrick Booking and Payment

  • Bookings can be made through our website, by phone, or in person at our Downpatrick location. A booking deposit may be required to confirm your reservation. Full payment and the security deposit are normally due when the vehicle is collected. All prices are in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable.

4. Vehicle Collection and Return — Downpatrick

  • For Downpatrick rentals, inspect the vehicle at collection and report any existing damage immediately. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed at collection. Return the vehicle in the same condition as collected, allowing for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be assessed and charged to the hirer accordingly.

5. Coverage and Liability

  • Basic third-party insurance is provided with every Downpatrick rental. The Rental Agreement contains full details of cover and the applicable excess amounts. Additional insurance options may be available to limit your financial exposure. We recommend reviewing these provisions carefully. You are responsible for any damage or loss up to the excess stated in the Rental Agreement.

6. Cancellation and Modifications

Cancellation and amendment policies for Downpatrick bookings vary by booking type and notice period. Please refer to your booking confirmation or rental agreement for full details. Late cancellations or no-shows may result in charges.

7. Restricted Uses

You must not use a vehicle rented from Downpatrick for:

  • Any illegal use or activity involving a Downpatrick vehicle. Racing, rallying, off-roading, or other high-risk activities. Transporting hazardous or other dangerous substances. Sub-letting the vehicle to third parties or permitting unauthorized drivers. Operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Purposes or loads for which a Downpatrick vehicle was not intended.

Failure to comply with these restrictions on Downpatrick bookings may result in immediate rental termination and additional charges.

8. Limitation of Liability (Downpatrick)

To the maximum extent permitted by English and Welsh law, Downpatrick Vehicle Hire Services will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, data, or business, arising from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim arising from or connected with the services will not exceed the total fees paid by you to Downpatrick Vehicle Hire Services for those services in the twelve months immediately preceding the claim.

9. Governing Law — Downpatrick

These Terms for Downpatrick are governed by Northern Ireland law. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Northern Ireland courts.

10. Changes to Downpatrick Terms

Downpatrick may update these Terms at any time. Such changes take effect immediately upon posting on the Downpatrick website. Continued use of Downpatrick services indicates acceptance of the updated Terms.
